Academic Scholarship
Ife Ooye Progressive Union, NJ. Chapter have various plans in the horizon in the area of dishing out academic scholarship to the less privileged and the very bright students in our community. The plans are still at the incubation stages. Sooner than later, the cat will be let out of the academic scholarship bags.
Community Outreach
A. We were positively involved during the private visit of Oba okunade Sijuade to the family of Chief Olubukola Adetula, in New Jersey, in the summer of 2006. We eventually presented a well deserved award plaque to the highly revered monarch, to commemorate the visit.
B. Sometimes in 2006, we donated various school supplies to the pupils of the school of special need, at Ilare, Ile-Ife. Also, we have been conducting Chrismas parties for the pupil of the same school on annual basis.
C. Shortly thereafter, we offered our financial assistance to a gentleman, who happened to be one of the victims of the Ife/Modakeke's communal clash of the immediate past. We equally presented the victim with a prosthetic limb, which serves as the artificial replacement for the limb that he lost at the communal war front. The financial support was for the purpose of establishing a small scale business for the victim.
D. Our organization was undoubtly the foundation pillar for the breakthrough in the establishment of the Ife Ooye North America, IONA, which successfully hosted Ooni Ogunwusi to an elaborate unprecedented reception in New Jersey, on the 11th of June, 2016. This singular feat of our impromptu coming together as collective Ife natives, under one umbrella, eventually metamorphosed into the outright birth of the glorious IONA, which now serves as the authentic mouthpiece of the Ile-Ife natives in North America region.
E. Currently, our organization is embarking on the construction of a magnificient building project for the pupils of the school of special need, at Ilare, Ile-Ife. The building will serve as the hostel accommodations for the school pupils. We believe that this singular act will go a long way to ameliorate the perennial accommodation problems which have been bedevilling the school pupils. We hope that sooner than later, the ongoing building project will be completed and commissioned by the appropriate constituted authority.
As a non profit organization, with a 501(c) status, we are open to receiving donations from the members of the public in general. We promise that these public donations will be equitably directed towards the intended goals of the organization, which are going to be to the benefit of our people back home at Ife.
We've been involved in the various forms of Community Outreach, ever since our inception as a credible organization in 2006. We supplied various forms of schooling materials and aids to the school of special need at Ilare, in Ife, in 2006. We have been organizing yearly Christmas party/celebrations for the pupil of the same school, ever since our organization’s inception in 2006, and we are still continuing in this trend up till today. We are currently constructing a multi-purpose dormitory for the said school. It is gradually nearing the completion stage. Sooner than later, we are expecting the said project to be commissioned by the constituted authority. As soon as this gigantic project is commissioned, we are promising that we will be delving into the other areas of community outreach in our immediate neighborhood.
